This website is
all about making connections between good soccer and good health
(especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo).
The first connection is, naturally enough, to encourage healthy development and teamwork through playing soccer. The second connection is to improve community-based sanitation through "Clean & Protected Village" programs that include a well maintained community soccer field. The third connection is a wide scale distribution of Ten Commandments of Health soccer balls that inlcude ten basic health messages that could drastically reduce morbidity and mortality to many preventable diseases. These key messages were developed by the SANRU III Basic Rural Health project in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of DR Congo and are part of a national community-based health improvement program.
